Directions to the Woolpack

As you come out of Mill Marina on to the main stretch of river, you will need to follow the river to your right, downstream. Continue along the river until you reach the 9 arches bridge at Thrapston where you can exit the river using the portage located to the left of the river, prior to the bridge.
The Woolpack Inn is directly across the road where you will need to carry your SUP/kayak to. We would advise calling ahead and informing that you will be arriving via the river with your SUP/kayak and will require an outdoor table.

As you come out of Mill Marina on to the main stretch or river, you will need to turn left and head upstream underneath the railway bridge. As you reach Denford lock, keep right and exit the river at the lock and walk round to get back in to the river on the other side, or alternatively, paddle a little further and exit the river at the first portage point you come to. You will then need to carry your equipment approximately 100metres to re-enter the river, after the bridge.

Paddle along the river until you reach “Woodford Lock”. At the lock you will need to get out using the pontoon on the right-hand side and cross over to the other side of the lock to get back in and continue your journey (never take your SUP or Kayak into a lock). Continue along the river and eventually you will arrive at The Watermill. On arrival, the river splits and you must follow to the left to exit the water using the portage point.

Once you have arrived you need to lift your SUP or Kayak and carry them over the Bridge to the right where The Watermill is located. We would advise that you ring ahead and pre-book a table to explain you are arriving via the river and that you will have your SUPs/kayaks with you.
